Polish Euro meeting - long distance
Saturday, 28 July 2007
Today was the long distance course. Notable for being Thor's first MBO ride in Poland. We used the same map as yesterday, only at 1:20,000. For the guys it was a long, tough course of 31 km with 900 m climbing, which Russia's Ruslan Gritsan made look easy. The course was a lot different to that which we've seen lately in that there were only 13 check points. This made for long legs. Check point 1 on both courses was about 4 km away with 250 m climb. So it took the best part of 20 minutes for most of us. As is typical for long, tough courses the results were quite widely spread. On the men's course Ruslan won in 93, followed by Anton (RUS) in 96, Matuesz (POL) 107, Andy Conn (GB) 113, Paul D 114. The other Aussies Larry 127, Woodsie 129, Tony 131 (Alex didn't ride as he was feeling a bit crook). Our course is below.

In the women's Thor rode 105 against the winner's 90 minutes and was 5th. Check the latest results for details.
