More on storks

Monday, 26 June 2006

Well it seems there are some established stork management procedures in countries lucky enough to be frequented by these impressive creatures.  As I understand it, the first step is to put up a large pole with what looks like a wagon wheel on the top of it.  The stork then is meant to build the nest on this as it’s much more attractive, in stork terms, as a nesting site.  I guess this means you either attempt to move the existing nest or just take it away.  Then the stork just finds the best place to build its nest and all is sweet.  So I’m told anyhow.
